We often get asked to run themed workshops to enable us to share our passion and knowledge accumulated over the last 35 years.
So we’re about to launch our 2018 program.
Our first workshop will be conducted on our NASAA certified organic, 4 hectare permaculture property near Pt Elliot SA.
Our theme for the day will be growing, gathering, cooking and processing organic produce.
As we explore our 2,000 plus square meters of polyculture gardens, we’ll show you how to setup your own organic kitchen garden or small scale commercial organic garden system.
We’ll show you how to establish your own integrated poultry forage system, how to keep the foxes out of your flock and our feathered friends out of the veg patch.
I’ll show you my preferred non automated gardening tools that can be used in your backyard or on a small scale commercial organic garden. I’ll show you our flame weeder, oscillating wheel hoe and my favourite … the broad fork!
The NASAA organic standards will be used as a reference point throughout the day.
You’ll be encouraged to forage in the morning, so we can prepare a simple “plant” based lunch to share. Your participation will be encouraged.
The Beach Organics property was purchased by Barry Beach in the early 1980’s. A treeless, rock and rabbit ridden paddock was our blank canvas.
Much work has seen it slowly transformed into a small scale polyculture garden system, with thousands of trees planted.

Maximum number of participants will be limited to 15, ensuring a more intimate and personable experience.
Time: 9.45 – 430 pm
Please note that a minimum of six months is required to prepare for an event such as this. Seed needs to be gathered or purchased, nurtured and harvested, watered, weeded etc etc.
The preceeding 35 years has also involved dedication and hard work.
